The Memorandum of Subsidiary Arrangement (MSA) has been signed in Vietnam, paving the way for scaling up of programs and activities. The Vietnam CP will operate at the central level and at three provincial locations in northwest Vietnam - Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang and Bac Can.
Rapid Assessment data has been analysed and a dissemination workshop is planned for June/July 2010. Workplans for all three provinces have been developed and services will be provided both in closed and community settings,l including HIV testing and counselling, peer education, outreach services, provision of sterile injecting equipment and condom distribution.
There is the possibility of providing methadone substitution also exists, once the government approves expansion from the current limited number of pilot sites in Vietnam. Access to client services for people who inject drugs and their families will be promoted through peer educator networks and post-detoxification peer support networks. |
